It’s been a while since I’ve posted a new article here at God of Mischief. And while one might expect me to have something to say about the latest Thor 3 rumours regarding Cate Blanchett, Hulk, or Thor 3 director Taiki Waititi’s tongue in cheek (or so we hope) quip about making Thor Ragnarok funnier… I’m actually going to keep my mouth shut on all of these things. For now.
Because the thought of Thor 3 being turned into a comedy-fest is enough to infuriate the furrows between my brows. And there’s enough negativity in the world, damnit.
Instead, I have a burning question to throw out into the interwebby-verse. It’s an old question really. A matter that should have been addressed a long time ago (and probably has been, somewhere on Tumblr or some other superhero type movie fan site. Just… Not here.)
So my burning question for Thor 3 is… How does King Loki – in his guise as Odin – manage to shield his true form from Heimdall?
From vague sketchy memory, Odin!Loki has reinstated Heimdall’s position as Asgard’s Gatekeeper (well he has to really – how could Odin be seen to forgive his son for treason and not Heimdall? Besides, he needs the guy’s omni-vision. Or whatever we call it…) And given that Heimdall can see every soul in the universe, surely… surely he can see Loki’s? Of course, the illusionary magic which Loki uses to keep up the Odin glamor probably comes with the knack of fooling even Heimdall. But.. For how long? Surely Loki can’t maintain the Odin facade ALL the time? Surely he must drop the guise when he’s having some alone time at least… Surely?
So… Come on folks, comments are open, please share your thoughts. I’m bored. I need entertaining. Also, it’s school holidays here in New Zealand and almost my only source of conversation for the last six weeks has been with a 5 and a 7 year old. I need rational adult conversation! About… fictional scenarios… involving fictional characters… *facepalm*
